I have a problem with Python and/or Visual Studio Code. Everything was working completely fine until a couple of weeks ago, when suddenly, pressing the button to run Python code in VSCode stopped functioning. If I click it, nothing happens, no output, not even if I run a simple “Hello world” script, no error message, no sign that the button did anything. I have tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling both Python and VSC, and still no change. I checked the path environment variable as a friend of mine suggested, but there appears to be no problem there. I suspect there might be something wrong with VSC, rather than Python, as I’ve been able to run simple scripts in IDLE.
