2. Polyform Shield License: This license applies specifically to the new autogpt_platform folder. Polyform Shield is a standard license used by many software developers.

What This Means for You:

• Unprecedented Access: You now have access to components that typically remain proprietary, including our product’s server and marketplace code.

• Transparency: Experience a more open and transparent development process for critical components.

• Collaboration: We encourage contributions from the community on a broader scope of our technology.

• Commercial Use: Businesses can freely integrate AutoGPT Agents into their commercial offerings, fostering innovation.

Are There Restrictions? 

We chose this license to balance flexibility with transparency. The Polyform Shield license only restricts use of the software in a product or service that competes with our products. Here are two examples of competing products and services that would be restricted, but we strongly encourage you to review the Polyform Shield License to make sure you understand it:

• Offering a service that provides direct access to the AutoGPT platform outside of your organization. 

• Creating a similar product that competes with the AutoGPT platform by placing a wrapper around AutoGPT.

Here are two examples of uses that would probably not compete:

• Offering an online application for which you use AutoGPT in the background to automate a task, such as a building an SEO content generator using an AutoGPT Agent in the backend.

• Using AutoGPT to perform consulting services and create a report of recommendations to your client.
