If you have a general conversation with anyone, unless they are philosophers, it is unlikely we will be exchanging deep or foundational belief statements directly. We might chat about the weather or what sporting teams we believe we support and why they are better and deserve to win, or which politicians should get into power, and why we believe that.

These kinds of surface-level beliefs we can articulate readily and can entertain us or get us into conflict with others. Our deep beliefs, however, are harder to articulate, being somewhat subconscious; and sometimes quite confronting, discriminatory, and founded in the formation of our psyche.

In order to make sense of the fomenting mania in AI, I hypothesise that is it obvious there
