I am currently working on a project that involves computer vision and Python. In this project, I am processing photo files, not videos. I attempted to use a webcam with OpenCV; although it is more convenient in terms of connectivity, the photo quality obtained is low, whereas I require high-quality photos.

I am currently trying to use the GoPro Hero 12 action camera with the Open GoPro Python library. However, I have not been able to achieve direct integration of the captured photos into my project folder.

I am considering using a DSLR camera like Sony or Canon. Could you please confirm whether the connectivity between these DSLR cameras and a computer, especially when using Python, is straightforward?
