Dear Michael, my thanks for an interesting debate on the subject of AGI. My thoughts on AI and the lack of “intelligence” were formulated back in the days of Eliza (I managed to crash it in under 15 minutes with a prompt it could not parse) and strongly influenced by the early proof of reinforcement loops in Martin Gardner’s Hexapawn experiment based on MENACE by Donald Michie.
