UNDATED (CNN/CNN Newsource/WKRC) – A machine-learning algorithm could predict when you die.

There’s a new research out regarding machine-learning algorithms and their ability to predict when one might die.

The new study was published this week in the journal: “Nature Computational Science.” The study focused on a machine-learning algorithm model called Life2Vec.

“The findings demonstrate that, by representing the complex linkage between social and health outcomes, accurately predicting life outcomes may be possible,” the study noted.

Highly-specific data about individuals was given to the algorithm, and it used those details to determine when a person might die.

The researchers noted it was a research prototype and cannot perform any real-world tasks in its current state.
