Is SearchGPT The New Google? New Study Details More About Its Growing Usage and Impact Amongst Users

A new study is shedding light on the world of search and how much it’s evolved with time.

While Google has been the go-to answer for many search queries or more information, you’ll be amazed how ChatGPT is really revolutionizing search trends.

OpenAI is slowly but surely doing what no other arch-rival could in the past few decades. And that has to do with shaking things up, presenting the most viable challenge to the company. As per recent stats, there is evidence about how more people are using this instead of the classic search and the cases keep increasing over time.

The traffic for ChatGPT spiraled over the figures seen on Bing and the referral traffic also grew massively in triple digits. Moreover, the company’s search volumes and its relevant market share also remained unimpacted.

Consumer surveys are routinely conducted time and time again about what consumers feel about search quality and other rising options such as the world of AI adoption. There are yet to be any studies speaking about whether AI could impact the attitudes of consumers towards search engines like Google or not. This is also relevant to how much they’re using Search.

Now we were all super curious to find the answers to some common questions. For starters, is it simpler to search for what you’re looking for on Google now or three years back? Other than that, what’s the most popular AI tool used and how frequently do you use it.

Some more questions were linked to what makes AI your go-to option and if any AI apps and search engines could be interchangeable or not. Users were also requested to lay down their experiences with AI search and whether they think the future is strong for AI search engines or not.

More than 2,200 people took part in the research study conducted by LocalDialog to try and figure out the right answer and after cutting down those who failed to give the right responses, there were roughly half as many participants’ whose answers were included.

In terms of what were the key findings, well Google is the leading search engine and users make use of different sites to make the right purchase decisions. On average, 44% of all Americans use AI apps at least once. Moreover, 77% of all those responding to this study claim it was easier to look for things on the search engine.

On average, 57% of all users make use of AI each day while more than half of them use it several times each day. 49% feel AI could be interchanged with classic search means and 67% felt AI would replace classic search engines in the next three years.

Remember, the world of search keeps fragmenting and it’s important to realize that people make use of other pages for search and exploring on many occasions. You’ll be amazed that most of those in the US are on TikTok and in search of reviews for famous products or perhaps expert recommendations. Yes, Google is still the most widely used but others seek alternatives too.
